Surigao City joins National Program to Build More Classrooms
IN PHOTO | Surigao City joined a major national effort to build more school buildings during a special signing ceremony at Malacañang Palace on February 23, 2026.
City Councilor Arnold Go attended the event to represent the city for Mayor Pablo Yves L. Dumlao II.
The program, 'Constructing Our Future,' was led by the Department of Education and joined by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and other local leaders, aiming to solve the shortage of classrooms and ensure students have better places to learn.
The new agreement creates a partnership between the national government and cities like Surigao to speed up the construction of school buildings. This will provide students with safe and modern classrooms that help them study more effectively.
By working with the national government, Mayor Dumlao and the city are making sure that every student in Surigao City has a good environment to learn and grow. This partnership is a big step in building a better future for the next generation. (SDR, PIA Surigao del Norte)
