Surigao Sur Doubles Cash Aid to Peace Advocates

IN PHOTOS | The provincial government of Surigao del Sur doubled its immediate financial assistance to 75 peace advocates, also known as former rebels, granting P10,000 each up from the previous P5,000, during a ceremony at the Provincial Capitol Lobby on Monday, November 10, 2025.

The initiative aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Bagong Pilipinas vision and the national peace and reintegration agenda, aiming to help former combatants reintegrate into their communities and build productive, peaceful lives.

This program is part of the province’s ongoing peace and livelihood interventions, ensuring peace advocates receive the support they need to start anew alongside their families. (NGPB, PIA Surigao del Sur)
