IN PHOTOS: The city government of Butuan, through the City Executive Management Department-Public Information Division spearheaded a training on information literacy and fact-checking to student journalists and coaches from seven campuses in the city on June 25, 2025.

“The government launched the Maging Mapanuri Campaign to address disinformation, as one of the most pressing issues of the country that creates confusion among Filipinos,” Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Caraga Assistant Regional Head Renelle L.   To equip the enlisted privates of the 4th Civil-Military Operations (CMO) Battalion (4CMOBn), Philippine Army with the right knowledge and skills in basic journalism, the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Caraga, facilitated the conduct of training on basic news writing and photo journalism to some 30 participants at the 4CMOBn Conference Room in Brgy. Bancasi, Butuan City.  As the resource speaker on basic news writing, Jennifer Gaitano, Information Officer III of PIA Caraga, discussed the important elements to consider when writing a news story. IN PHOTO |  Students and teachers from different schools in the province of Surigao del Norte participated the two-day training on Arduino Programming and Product Development spearheaded by the Department of Science and Technology -  Provincial Research and Innovation Museum (DOST-PRISM) on October 3-4, 2024. The training fostered a vibrant science, technology, and innovation (STI) ecosystem in Surigao del Norte and capacitated the participants on Arduino programming as a foundation for future STEM learning and innovation. The said science and technology initiative equipped them with technical skills but also encouraged the students to pursue careers in science and technology, contributing to the nation’s progress and development.
