33rd Naliyagan Festival and 58th Founding Anniversary of Agusan del Sur

IN PHOTO | The 33rd Naliyagan Festival and 58th Founding Anniversary of Agusan del Sur officially opened on June 12, 2025 with a vibrant presentation of the province’s indigenous peoples (IP) groups — Higaonon, Talaandig, Banwaon and Manobo.

Representatives from each tribe, including the indigenous peoples mandatory representatives (IPMRs) were formally introduced to honor their vital role in preserving the province’s rich cultural heritage.

Among the distinguished guests was Abina Coguit, a proud Agusanon Manobo and a recognized national living artist, who embodies the enduring spirit of indigenous art and tradition in Agusan del Sur.

She began learning the suyam, a traditional embroidery, at the age of 15 with the guidance of her grandmother. She has mastered the art of suyam and continued to pass on the skill to younger generations. (KKG, PIA Agusan del Sur)
