World Water Day 2025

IN PHOTOS | The city government of Surigao, through the City Environmental and Natural Resources Office (ENRO), conducted a coastline cleanup campaign in line with the observance of the World Water Day 2025 with the theme, "Glacier Preservation: Bayanihan sa Katubigan, Krisis sa Klima Labanan.”

Volunteers collected 50 sacks of waste, mostly plastic, from the coastal area behind the City Hall compound. This initiative raised awareness on pollution and the need to protect the city’s water resources.

The active participation of employees highlighted the local government's dedication to environmental conservation and sustainable practices.

The cleanup campaign formed part of the city’s broader environmental programs to fight climate change and promote sustainable practices. The city government of Surigao remained committed to ensuring a cleaner and greener Surigao for future generations. (SDR, PIA Surigao del Norte)

  To equip the enlisted privates of the 4th Civil-Military Operations (CMO) Battalion (4CMOBn), Philippine Army with the right knowledge and skills in basic journalism, the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Caraga, facilitated the conduct of training on basic news writing and photo journalism to some 30 participants at the 4CMOBn Conference Room in Brgy. Bancasi, Butuan City.  As the resource speaker on basic news writing, Jennifer Gaitano, Information Officer III of PIA Caraga, discussed the important elements to consider when writing a news story. She also shared tips on how to effectively write a straight news.  #ExplainExplainExplain
