Expanded Solo Parents Welfare Act

IN PHOTOSTo have better understanding of the salient features of Republic Act 11861 or the "Expanded Solo Parents Welfare Act," the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Caraga, together with Butuan City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWDD), and Barangay Council of Holy Redeemer, conducted on Jan. 31, the first episode of the "Panagtigum sa Barangay" (gathering in the barangay), attended by the federations of solo parents coming from the different barangays of Butuan.

PIA Caraga Regional Head Venus Garcia highlighted the relevance of communicating the government's programs and services down to the grassroots level, hence, encouraging people's participation in the discussion during the "Panagtigum sa Barangay."

Punong Barangay Efren Acaso of Holy Redeemer, also expressed his full support to this activity by setting up the venue and inviting participants. He stressed that PIA's "Panagtigum sa Barangay" program serves as an avenue to strengthen linkage and ties between the government agencies and the barangay constituents. (JPG, PIA Caraga)
