Surigao Sur welcomes 91 former members of CPP-NPA-NDF back to civilian life
IN PHOTOS | Ninety one former members of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), New People's Army (NPA), and the National Democratic Front (NDF) formally returned to the fold of the government. They handed over their firearms in a symbolic ceremony attended by Surigao del Sur Governor Alexander T. Pimentel, Brigadier General Francisco P. Lorenzo Jr. of the 401st Brigade, Brigadier General Arsenio D.C. Sadural of the 901st Brigade, and Police Colonel Harry Domingo, provincial director of the Surigao del Sur Provincial Police Office in Tandag City on October 30, 2024.
The former rebels were presented by the Philippine National Police (PNP), alongside the 36th Infantry Battalion (30 FRs), 75th Infantry Battalion (18 FRs), 3rd Special Forces Battalion (6 FRs), and 29th Infantry Battalion (2 FRs). (NGPB/PIA-Surigao del Sur)
