IN PHOTO | The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office in Surigao del Norte, in partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Bureau of Jail and Management Penology (BJMP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and residents of Barangay Cagniog, conducted a coastal clean-up and Mangrove tree planting in the said barangay, in line with the celebration of International Coastal Cleanup Day which is celebrated every 3rd Saturday of September.

The participants were able to plant a total of 300 mangrove propagules in the shoreline of Barangay Cagniog.  

The activity clearly showed the spirit of Bayanihan in the protection and preservation of coastal communities in the province. (Susil D. Ragas, PIA-Surigao del Norte)
