IN PHOTO | The municipality of Loreto was awarded for its innovative program, the "Kalinaw Youth Fest," which aims at preventing illegal drug use among the youth, during the 1st Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) Summit cum AgSOAR Awards on Oct. 4, 2024, at the covered court, D.O. Plaza Government Center, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

The Kalinaw Youth Fest (KYF) 2023 is a flagship initiative for the youth sector, promoting a peaceful and inclusive community. At the core of KYF is the promotion of healthy living by encouraging youth participation in various sports, fostering lifelong habits that reduce the likelihood of engaging in risky behaviors such as drug use, gambling, and rebellion against the government.   To equip the enlisted privates of the 4th Civil-Military Operations (CMO) Battalion (4CMOBn), Philippine Army with the right knowledge and skills in basic journalism, the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Caraga, facilitated the conduct of training on basic news writing and photo journalism to some 30 participants at the 4CMOBn Conference Room in Brgy. Bancasi, Butuan City.  As the resource speaker on basic news writing, Jennifer Gaitano, Information Officer III of PIA Caraga, discussed the important elements to consider when writing a news story. She also shared tips on how to effectively write a straight news.  #ExplainExplainExplain
