IN PHOTO | Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (PDRRMO) Armando "Balong" Gomez shared the updates on the ongoing training for those who want to be part of the Search and Rescue Agusan del Sur (SARAS) Team, and the need to strengthen the partnership of the Provincial Public Information Office (PPIO) and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), during a courtesy visit by the personnel from the PIA-Agusan del Sur Government Information Center.

"The successful dissemination of information during disasters in Agusan del Sur is a testament to the strong cooperation between the PIA and the PPIO as a member of the PDRRMC. We recognize both as relevant agencies in information dissemination," he said.

Gomez further suggested that the cooperation between the three agencies—PIA Agusan del Sur Government Information Center, PPIO, and the PDRRMO would be more effective in its engagement with the municipal information officers from the province's 1 city and 13 municipalities, and expressed support on the organization of barangay information officers who will help in providing situation reports during disasters.
