IN PHOTOS | The Provincial Information Office of Dinagat Islands handed over the plaque of commendation to the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Assistant Regional Head Renelle Luzon Escuadro who served as the resource speaker of the Provincial Information Convention 2024 at the Emergency Operation Center (EOC), San Jose, Dinagat Islands on September 20, 2024.

She highlighted the pivotal role and relevance of the barangay information officers in the fight against fake news especially during disasters. "As the initial source of information at the community level, barangay IOs need to keep a critical mindset at all times to validate the information's source, author, accuracy, among others," Escuadro said.
