Surigao City LGU Strengthens Disaster Preparedness for Persons With Disabilities

IN PHOTO | The persons with disabilities from Surigao City's 54 barangays gathered for an orientation on Disaster Preparedness and Basic Life Support organized by the city government of Surigao through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) as part of the observance of the 48th National Disability Rights Week. The activity brought together the presidents of the  persons with disabilities organizations and focused on practical knowledge that can help them respond during emergencies. New Voting Precinct Opens at City Mall Surigao for Barangay Luna Voters

IN PHOTO | The registered voters in Barangay Luna, Surigao City will soon have an additional voting precinct following the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and City Mall Surigao. The new polling venue at City Mall Surigao is expected to provide a more accessible and convenient location for voters while helping improve the overall conduct of elections in the barangay. Representing the city government of Surigao during the signing ceremony were Vice Mayor Alfonso S. Casurra, City Legal Officer Ronel B. DTI, FSUU, officially open P150M Shared Service Facility for Caraga MSMEs

Odchigue, university president of Father Saturnino Urios University, officially launched their new shared service facility (SSF) named FSUU MIRACLE, in a ceremonial ribbon-cutting on July 13, 2026. The SSF is a joint venture of the DTI Caraga and FSUU as DTI's cooperator. The project officially named as FSUU MIRACLE (Modern Implementation for Revolutionizing Advanced Cutting-edge Layout and Excellent Printing Solution), will provide local businesses with affordable access to packaging design, label development, commercial printing, among others. Caraga RDRRMC showcases disaster response efforts in NDRM 2026 kickoff

The program served as a learning activity for spectators as they visited the different boots of the four thematic pillars under the Caraga Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC): Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Disaster Preparedness, Disaster Response and Early Recovery, and Disaster Rehabilitation and Recovery.
