DOH promotes program on MR-SIA

IN PHOTO | During the Kapihan sa PIA on January 14, 2026, Dr. Amethyst Kathleen G. Alicante, medical officer IV of the Department of Health-Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) Caraga, revealed that there were 129 recorded cases of measles and rubella in 2024 in the region. However, this went down to 98 cases in 2025. Accordingly, this decrease in cases is a result of the department’s successful immunization campaign, including the continued strengthening of health information and services in communities with the help of the local and barangay health workers. Caraga State U strengthens campus inclusivity

Mercado, CSU's vice president  for Student Affairs and Auxiliary Services, shared to PIA Caraga on January 15, 2026 in Butuan City, the efforts of the university on campus inclusivity, especially to the Muslim students and personnel in the campus.  "CSU is the first and only school among state universities and colleges (SUC) across the Caraga region that offers a dedicated Muslim prayer room," VP Mercado said. “The goal of the Muslim prayer room is to provide Muslim students and staff with a designated space for their prayers and spiritual activities in a peaceful and comfortable setting.” (RLE, PIA Dinagat Islands)

Tourism councils of Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur brainstorm in joint 4th quarter meeting in collective goal to boost tourism

Agsurnon farmers take part in Stakeholder's Forum and World Soil Day celebration

Senate agriculture chair visits Agusan Sur's soil research laboratory

IN PHOTO | Following his keynote address at the Stakeholders’ Forum and World Soil Day celebration on December 5, 2025 at the Datu Lipus Makapandong covered court in Patin-ay, Prosperidad, Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, chair of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Food, toured Agusan del Sur’s state-of-the-art soil research laboratory. In a press briefing, Pangilinan commended the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur, under the leadership of Governor Santiago B. Cane Jr., along with 2nd District Congressional Representative Adolph Edward G. Plaza, for their initiatives to strengthen the province’s agricultural sector. He lauded the establishment of the laboratory and the training provided to Agsurnon farmers on soil testing, which enables them to optimize crop yields. (NJGD, PIA Caraga)
