Surigao Sur provides ₱500,000 aid to former rebels
IN PHOTO | The provincial government of Surigao del Sur provided ₱500,000 in immediate assistance to 50 former rebels during the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) awarding ceremony on October 21, 2026 at the VTP Jr. multipurpose hall, Capitol Hills, Tandag City. Each beneficiary received ₱10,000 to help support their families and rebuild their lives as they return to peaceful civilian life. All participants also received humanitarian packs to help address their immediate needs.
The initiative supports the national government’s peacebuilding and reintegration efforts by helping former rebels transition to mainstream society. Through continued assistance and livelihood opportunities, the government aims to encourage beneficiaries to remain committed to peace and contribute to their communities’ development.
