TCERT deployment activated for Sangkaan Festival 2026 in Tandag City

IN PHOTOS | The Tandag City Emergency Response Team (TCERT) is now on full deployment for the 14th Sangkaan Festival 2026, ready to respond and provide assistance as residents and visitors gather for the week-long celebration. 

The deployment was formally activated during the Operational Period Briefing and Ceremonial Deployment on September 4, 2026 at the City Hall compound in Barangay Awasian, putting the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) under Blue Alert status, with the Incident Management Team (IMT) and various response clusters mobilized under the Incident Command System (ICS).

Responders were briefed on their assignments, coordination procedures, and safety measures and took their oath of service as they prepared for possible emergencies during the festivities. Representing Mayor Roxanne Pimentel, SP Member Hyna Jean Boniao acknowledged the responders’ commitment, while Vice Mayor Eleanor Momo, through SP Member Maria Lourdes Kharen Momo, reminded them to look after their own safety while serving the public.

CDRRMO Chief Reyveen John Geli said TCERT will remain on full deployment from September 4 to 11, 2026, supporting public safety and emergency response operations throughout the Sangkaan Festival. (NGPB, PIA Surigao del Sur)

CORDS X and PCOO secretary Martin Andanar assured the affected residents involved in the CPP-NPA's burning of houses and a chapel in Opol, Misamis Orientel that help will be provided to them. "As the designated Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security for Northern Mindanao (CORDS X), we will help coordinate with the local government and the concerned government agencies to ensure that those affected are given the assistance that they need.
