Residents join DENR's coastal cleanup in Rosario, Tandag City

IN PHOTOS | The residents of Barangay Rosario,  joined the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Surigao del Sur in a coastal cleanup activity along the shoreline earlier today, April 24, 2026, as part of the Earth Month and Earth Day celebrations. 

Local volunteers, barangay officials, and community members gathered early in the morning to collect plastic waste, debris, and other pollutants along the coast, demonstrating collective action to protect the marine environment. The activity aimed to raise environmental awareness and encourage responsible waste management among residents of Tandag City. 

DENR-PENRO headed by Adelfo Luengas Jr.,  emphasized that the coastal cleanup highlights the importance of community participation in preserving coastal resources and sustaining a cleaner and healthier shoreline for future generations. (NGPB, PIA Surigao del Sur)
