Storytelling Through the Lens: Photojournalist Shares Video Tips in Tandag City

IN PHOTO | With smartphones and passion in hand, tourism officers and staffs from across the province explored the power of visual storytelling in a hands-on workshop led by veteran photojournalist Erwin Mascarinas. Held in Tandag City, the session focused on enhancing digital skills in photography, videography, scriptwriting, and voice-over production, tools now essential in promoting local tourism in the digital age.

Mascarinas, known for his compelling and human-centered photo essays, encouraged participants to go beyond visuals and tell stories that capture the spirit and uniqueness of their communities.

“This is not just about shooting videos. It’s about telling stories that move people and bring them closer to our local culture, nature, and identity,” he said.

The training is part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen the promotional capacity of tourism frontliners across Surigao del Sur, aligning with the national agenda of revitalizing the tourism industry through digital innovation. (NGPB, PIA Surigao del Sur)
