PCol. Yusup shared that Agusan del Sur is among the safest provinces in the Caraga region.

"Based on our crime situation report for 2024 compared to 2023, we have observed a general decline in crime, particularly in rape incidents, which Agusan del Sur was previously noted for having a high number of cases," he said.

"It is worth noting that in 2024, we achieved a 60% reduction in such incidents. This improvement can be attributed to our efforts in conducting caravans, information dissemination, and raising awareness through the barangay local government units (BLGUs). The reduction in incidents from 2023 to 2024 is significant for us," he added.

Yusup also highlighted that all types of cases in Agusan del Sur have significantly decreased.

He assured the public of the Philippine National Police's (PNP) commitment to maintaining peace and order during the upcoming midterm local and national elections by deploying PNP personnel to every polling precinct.

Additionally, he reminded gun enthusiasts to strictly adhere to the election-related gun ban. He urged those without the necessary certificates from the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) to refrain from carrying firearms during the election period. (KKG, PIA-Agusan del Sur)
