According to DOH Caraga regional director Dr. Jose Llacuna, Jr., only the PUIs will be tested via the prescribed nasal and oral swabs since they are subjected to higher risk on contracting COVID-19. The conduct of nasal and oral swab is the only testing procedure followed by the health agency since it yields higher accuracy in the test results. In addition, only Level 2 private hospitals, such as the Adela Serra Ty Memorial Medical Center in Tandag City and the Caraga Regional Hospital in Surigao City are being referred by the agency for COVID-19 patients since the said hospital offer better facilities to cater their medical needs.
The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease in Caraga will conduct a coordination meeting today (Mar. 13) at Prince Hotel, Butuan City to discuss and provide updates on the recent development on COVID-19, nationwide and region-wide, particularly on the declaration of the Code Red Sub-level 2. Participants are governors, city mayors, level-2 chiefs of hospitals, provincial and city health officers, and IATF members.
